Kansas football fans can mark their calendars and start making plans because the non-conference game times have been released. Rock Chalk!

The Kansas Jayhawks enter a new era with their football program, as Les Miles was hired to take over the head coaching duties. It’s an exciting time for KU football fans, as the program has been in shambles for the last decade. For the first time since that Orange Bowl victory, there’s some optimism surrounding the program.

With all of that said, fellow Jayhawks can start planning accordingly, as the first three games of the year now have official kickoff times. Here are the dates, opponents, channels they’ll be airing on, and times for each game.

  • August 31st – Indiana State – FSN (11:00AM)
  • September 7th – Coastal Carolina – ESPN+ (6:00PM)
  • September 14th – at Boston College – ACCN (6:30PM)

Unlike last year, the Kansas Jayhawks should win their first game of the year. Indiana State is in the Missouri Valley Conference and despite non-Power-5 teams rolling into Lawrence and knocking off KU in years past, Les Miles is a different coach and that means this team won’t lose games like that anymore. That’s the hope at least.

Coastal Carolina could be an interesting one, however, as they’ve had talented teams in years past. They’re a member of the Sun Belt Conference, which is an under the radar division when it comes to collegiate football honestly. The Chanticleers could give KU a run for their money, but hopefully the crimson and blue come out on top.

Lastly, an away game against Boston College, which will likely result in a loss for the Jayhawks. Boston College was ranked throughout most of the 2018 season and are usually a pretty respectable program. This game being on their home turf makes it even more likely that the Eagles take this one.

As for the game times and networks, it’s not surprising that Kansas isn’t in any prime viewings. Their season opener is at 11 in the morning, but at least it’s on a decent network, which can’t be said for the other two games.

Fans will have to have ESPN+ and the ACC Network in order to watch their Jayhawks in the second and third weeks of the 2019 season. The Boston College game hopefully is closer than people will expect, but it’s hard to say what we’ll get out of KU in Miles’ first year.

Do any of the kickoff times stand out to you?
