NUMBER THREE – HUNTER DOZIER

While Hunter Dozier has been the Royals’ best hitter in 2019 (there’s a sentence I never thought I’d type), he’s not a well-known name around the league and that could lead to him not being the Royals’ representative.

Third base is also a pretty crowded position in the American League and that’s why Mike Moustakas never got to be a starter in the All-Star Game during his time in Kansas City. Dozier could see a similar situation, though he could certainly still make it as an alternate.

Dozier is slashing .315/.397/.592 with 11 home runs and 33 RBI. His batting average is the fourth best in the American League among third basemen at the moment, trailing Gio Urshela (Yankees, .333), Rafael Devers (Red Sox, .329), and David Fletcher (Angels, .318).

Even though Dozier has been the best hitter for the Royals to this point, the two guys I’m closing this post out with still have a better shot at representing the boys in blue in Cleveland.
