AFC WEST ROOKIES TO WATCH OUT FOR – NUMBER TWO: NOAH FANT

The Chiefs struggled against tight ends last season, so why wouldn’t they be afraid of one of their biggest rivals adding a stud tight end in this year’s draft? The Broncos did just that.

Denver traded down from the tenth overall pick to the 20th overall pick and grabbed Noah Fant out of Iowa. Fant wasn’t even the best tight at Iowa this past year, but he’s still an amazing talent and could deal the Chiefs defense fits.

Fant had 39 catches for 519 yards and seven touchdowns with the Hawkeyes last year. When you consider he was splitting playing time with T.J. Hockenson (who went eighth overall to the Lions), those are pretty darn good numbers.

Denver hasn’t had much of a tight end presence since Julius Thomas bolted for Jacksonville several years ago, but Fant has a chance to revive the position for the team. He could be a troublemaker for Kansas City.
