AFC WEST ROOKIES TO WATCH OUT FOR – NUMBER 4: NASIR ADDERLEY

The Los Angeles Chargers have done a tremendous job building up their defense through the draft over the past few years. They hit the jackpot in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft when they selected Derwin James and this year, they struck gold in round two by drafting Nasir Adderley of Delaware.

Adderley is someone Chiefs fans had been eyeing throughout the offseason and draft discussions. He fit what Kansas City’s secondary was trying to do to a tee and it’d have been nice to have him in that unit.

LA pounced on Adderley in round two and he now joins the talented James and Desmond King. Jason Reed of LA Sports Hub even dubbed this year’s Chargers defense as the next “Legion of Boom”.

While I wouldn’t go that far, Reed is onto something. With how much the Chiefs like to throw the ball, having to play two games against the stout Chargers secondary won’t be as easy as we’d like it to be. Adderley could play a huge role in making LA’s secondary even scarier.
