With Super Bowl aspirations on the line, this has been one of the more exciting offseasons for the KC Chiefs in a long time.

The Mahomes-led offense will certainly be a lot to handle for any of the Chiefs’ opponents. The question is, will the defense be ready to hold up their end of the deal?

While there are spots to battle for on offense, more of the pressure likely falls on positions up for grabs on the defense. Through OTA’s, training camp, and the preseason, Chiefs fans will have a lot to watch for leading up to September. There’s also enough time between now and then that Brett Veach could make an aggressive move or two.

Although it’s unlikely, just imagine what the running back position battle might look like if Veach traded for an established top-five running back? What if a wild trade were to bring the Jaguars’ Jalen Ramsey to the Chiefs? There’s also the possibility of making the tight end position more competitive by bringing in current Viking, Kyle Rudolph.

The reality is, players on this team aren’t just competing for a spot on the roster. They are competing for a Super Bowl ring as well. It’ll be interesting to see who’s wearing one of those rings at season’s end.
