NUMBER ONE – ANTHONY HITCHENS

One of Brett Veach’s biggest moves last free agency session was bringing in Anthony Hitchens from the Dallas Cowboys. Maybe, just maybe, there was a reason the Cowboys were content with Hitchens leaving despite having a nice season in 2017. He wasn’t very good in year one in KC.

Hitchens signed a pretty lengthy contract too, a five-year deal worth $45 million. The 26-year old had his fair share of problems in helping stop the run, but to be fair, so did most of the defense. In the end, that’s what bit them in the butt.

As you can see in Farzin’s tweet above, Hitchens was rated the second to worst inside linebacker by Pro Football Focus. He’s making way too much money to be THAT bad.

Veach saw something in Hitchens when he brought him in, so hopefully the Chiefs see some more production out of him in year two. They need him to bring his A-game in 2019.
