Kansas City Chiefs: 10 UDFA signings who can make 53-man roster
By Shade Piper
Marcus Marshall, RB, James Madison
Marcus Marshall was actually just a tryout player, but was one of four players who signed UDFA contracts after rookie minicamp. This means he must already be doing something to catch the Chiefs’ eye.
According to Kissel, Marshall began grabbing the Chiefs’ attention during day one of rookie minicamp where he displayed his abilities in the passing game. Being able to catch passes out of the backfield will become increasingly important as the Chiefs continue to build their offense around Mahomes.
This could end up earning Marshall a roster spot.
The Chiefs carried at least four running backs on the active roster for most of the season last year and have three spots more than likely guaranteed to Damien Williams, Carlos Hyde, and Darwin Thompson. The last spot could be taken from Darrel Williams with a good offseason by Marshall.
