Kansas City Chiefs: Positions to address on Day 3 of 2019 NFL Draft
POSITIONS TO ADDRESS ON DAY 3 – RUNNING BACK
While this might not sit well with some people, running back is a grueling position and Chiefs fans especially should know how quickly offenses can change in a year. That’s why targeting a running back late in the draft could be a wise decision.
The Chiefs signed Carlos Hyde in the offseason and inked Damien Williams to an extension during the season. They also have Darryl Williams entering year two of his NFL career. Why then, should they “waste” a selection on a running back? Well, because as I mentioned previously, it’s a position where injuries occur frequently.
Running back also isn’t the position it used to be. Most teams can plug just about anyone in at the position and experience some levels of success.
Late round targets for the Chiefs at running back include Rodney Anderson of Oklahoma, Elijah Holyfield of Georgia, and Benny Snell of Kentucky.
