Kansas City Chiefs: Grading 2016 NFL Draft selections
By Casey Adkins
As a Gators fan, I was thrilled that the Chiefs took Demarcus Robinson. Unfortunately, my hype was for naught really.
Robinson saw no play on offense his rookie season, but he did play on Special Teams, primarily as a Gunner. In his second season, he saw more playing time on offense where he totaled 21 catches for 212 yards. In his third year, he developed a bit of a rapport with Patrick Mahomes and ended the year with 22 catches for 283 yards and four touchdowns.
While Robinson wasn’t spectacular, he is still a solid receiver and his previous work with Mahomes will only work in his favor. For a fourth round pick, I give this pick a B.
Barring injury to Alex Smith and Nick Foles, Kevin Hogan was never going to see the field for the Chiefs. He was released on September 3rd, 2016 and later was picked up by the Browns where he would be active for eight games total over the course of two years.
In those games, one as a starter, he threw for 621 yards with a 4:7 TD to INT ratio. Considering he never saw any time for the Chiefs, I give this pick an Incomplete.
