With the 2019 NFL Draft right around the corner, let’s take a look at the 2016 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs’ 2016 draft is one that had some real hits and some real duds.

Before we begin, I wanted to give a huge thanks to the readers.  The first two pieces I did were some of my best work and I hope you enjoyed them. Now onto re-visiting the Kansas City Chiefs‘ 2016 NFL Draft

The 2015 season was an interesting one for the Chiefs.

After a 1-5 start, many fans thought the Chiefs were done. It wasn’t helped by Jamaal Charles tearing his ACL against the Bears early in the season. The Chiefs wouldn’t let that start get them down, despite the hole they were obviously in.

The team would go on an 11-game winning streak (including the playoffs) and would win their first playoff game in 20 years, before losing to the New England Patriots in a thriller.

In the aftermath of the season, safety Eric Berry won Comeback Player of the Year after returning from cancer. Cornerback Marcus Peters won Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The Chiefs lost a third-round pick due to tampering when they were negotiating with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin prior to him signing in KC. The team held the 28th overall pick, but traded out of the first round in order to recoup a third-round pick. This meant that the Chiefs first pick was at 37th overall.

Now that we have three full seasons in which to judge these players off of, let’s grade them all.
