2018 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Round 1: Pick 5 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Leigh Oleszczak)

48. . Linebacker. LSU. Devin White. 5. player

Things might be looking up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who hired Bruce Arians to take over as their head coach this offseason. Arians is an offensive minded coach though and it needs to be noted that the Bucs allowed the second most points in the league a season ago.

So yeah… The Bucs absolutely need to focus on defense with the fifth overall pick. They landed a good prospect too, Devin White out of LSU, who can provide them with sound tackling. White totaled 123 tackles a season ago for the Tigers and now he brings that talent to Tampa.

The Buccaneers also lost Kwon Alexander to free agency and very well could trade Gerald McCoy when it’s all said and done. They desperately need to add young talent on defense and Devin White would be a tremendous choice.

Staff Reaction: Solid pick for Tampa as they find a player with great athleticism and tackling ability to step into the role left by Kwon Alexander. White is a ‘high floor’ prospect with the skillset to stay on the field for three downs and make an impact. With the first four picks basically locked in, this is beginning to feel like a lock as well. – John
