2018 NFL Draft: KC Kingdom Mock Draft

Round 1: Pick 17 – Arizona Cardinals (Leigh Oleszczak)

Andre Dillard. 17. player. 32. . Offensive Tackle. Washington State

One of the reasons Josh Rosen struggled so much as a rookie was because the guy barely had any time to throw the ball! That’s why using one of the two picks the Cardinals acquired for trading out of the top spot had to be used to address the offensive line.

Andre Dillard was the pick here and he was a four-year starter at left tackle for Washington State. No one gets excited about offensive linemen going in the first round, but there’s no excuse for Arizona NOT to address one of their biggest weaknesses from a season ago.

If the Cardinals opt to stay with Josh Rosen moving forward, their offensive line is going to have to do a much better job at keeping him upright. Andre Dillard is hopefully the first of several pieces in protecting Rosen.

Staff Reaction: Don’t like this pick at all. Cardinals have needs all over the field, but have added offensive linemen in free agency and have needs elsewhere, including at wide receiver and tight end. Committing to Josh Rosen is a good idea, but the opportunity to add a Noah Fant or AJ Brown to the offense is lost. D.J. Humprhies is by no means a star, however, is Dillard that much better? – John
