Kansas City Chiefs: Five games to look forward to in 2019
3. Los Angeles Chargers, (Mexico City) Nov. 18th 7:15 p.m. ESPN
Are you ready for some football?! The Chiefs get another shot to play in Mexico City after last years debacle with the field conditions in The Estadio Azteca. The game will feature Los Angeles again, but this time it’s their division rival Chargers.
It’s pretty obvious that these Charger games are becoming the most important games within the division. Both teams split last season, beating one another the opponents home turf. The Chiefs meltdown on Thursday night football last season was awful and many of us hoped to get another crack at them in the playoffs (Thanks, Baltimore!)
Like the Chiefs, the Chargers are in a win-now mode as the clock is ticking on quarterback Philip Rivers. They’ve done a nice job building up their defense and look no further than All-Pro safety, Derwin James. What a steal he was for them and how fun it’s going to be watching he and Mahomes play cat and mouse for the next decade.
The resurgence of this rivalry is a ton of fun in my eyes and makes for must-see television. Oh, and the Chargers had to forfeit a home game for this one, so I’ll take playing them on a neutral field any day.
Not that they really have a home field advantage anyway (BURN!)
