Kansas City Chiefs: Five games to look forward to in 2019
4. Baltimore Ravens, Sunday Sept. 22nd NOON CBS
The Chiefs will finally get their home opener in week three against the Baltimore Ravens, a team that beat and battered the Chiefs all afternoon last December. The Ravens came on strong at the end of 2018, winning six out of their last seven games, including a victory over the Chargers that helped the Chiefs maintain their one-seed and division title.
Lamar Jackson has serious skills as a runner, but the questions still remain on whether or not he will be able to develop passing skills that can take this offense to the next level. They added free agent running back Mark Ingram from the Saints, so if they continue to run their read options, jet sweeps and college style rushing attack, they could cause a lot of problems for opposing defenses.
The main reason I’m putting this game in the top five is because of how clutch Mahomes was in that game last season. He took a beating all afternoon only to rally the troops and come up big on two fourth-down conversions on that game tying drive.
The Ravens might not be nearly as good as they were last season but there is no denying the talent they still have on that defense. This game will be an awesome home opener for the team and the crowd!
