Kansas Basketball Transfer Portal Wishlist: Admon Gilder

The Kansas basketball team will need some help at guard and former Texas A&M guard Admon Gilder could provide some firepower. Gilder can also defend, which would fit into Bill Self’s vision.

Jeff Shull of Gig ‘Em Gazette recently had this to say about Gilder:

"Admon Gilder was not only the senior statesmen on the roster and the de facto leader, but he was the team’s best returning outside shooter and perimeter defender."

Gilder’s playing career was in doubt after a blood clot was found in his arm before last season, but after sitting out the year, seems ready to attack a new challenge.

Two years ago, he averaged 12.3 points per game for the Aggies, 4.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and knocked down 50.6 of his two-point attempts, 82.1 percent from the line, and 39.5 percent from behind the arc.

Gilder seems like a well-rounded performer who might fit in nicely with Self’s system. The Jayhawks will need to backcourt depth, and this might be a terrific option.
