Kansas City Chiefs: 2019 NFL Draft Board Version 3
By Shade Piper
Options for the Third Round and Beyond who have Visited the Chiefs
Charles Omenihu, EDGE/Defensive Lineman (Texas)
Charles Omenihu has been one of my biggest draft crushes as of late. He actually made an appearance in my last Chiefs Draft Board as a second round option. I like him enough that I would be more than happy with the Chiefs taking him in the second round, but many mock drafts have him lasting well into the third round and sometimes even into the fourth.
If the Chiefs can get him with their third round selection (pick 92), it would be an absolute robbery. If the Chiefs pass on him in the second round and see his name at 92, they should be ecstatic. In Omenihu, they would be getting a pass rusher that can play inside or at defensive end and still has a lot of room for development.
Amani Oruwariye, Cornerback (Penn State)
Judging by the cornerbacks that have been talked about so far, it seems as the Chiefs are looking for big, physical cornerbacks. Oruwariye adds to the list of cornerbacks who have visited the Chiefs who fit the mold of a cornerback with good size. If Omenihu is not available at pick 92 and the Chiefs are still in need of a cornerback, Oruwariye would be a good value at this draft position.
Emeke Egbule, Linebacker (Houston)
Emeke Egbule visited the Chiefs the same day as Oruwariye on April 2nd. Egbule is a talented player who could develop into a good coverage linebacker with the bonus ability to rush the passer. He will likely be a special teams contributor at first, but with the Chiefs being somewhat shorthanded at the linebacker position he could possibly push for some defensive playing time early as well. He could likely be grabbed with the fifth round, 167th overall pick.
