Kansas City Chiefs: 2019 NFL Draft Board Version 3
By Shade Piper
First Round Options Who Haven’t Visited With the Chiefs.
Byron Murphy, Cornerback (Washington)
Byron Murphy has been my number one draft crush since day one. He has always been one of the top cornerbacks in the draft, but now is considered by many to be the best cornerback available. I’ve been comparing him to a Marcus Peters-caliber cornerback minus the attitude concerns.
He is likely to be the best cornerback in the draft and cornerback is still is one of, if not the, most needed position for the Chiefs in this year’s draft. If Byron Murphy or even Greedy Williams is available at pick 29 they are definitely worth considering, possibly even over Simmons or Tillery.
Nasir Adderley, Safety (Delaware)
Nasir Adderley has been my dream second round selection for the Chiefs for quite a while now. However, his draft position in mock drafts have been all over the place.
When mock drafts first started coming out for this year you could find him available much deeper into the draft, but basically every recent mock draft that I have studied has him going in the first round or early in the second round. So with my dream of the Chiefs grabbing him with pick 61 is looking pretty doubtful, he has been moved to a first round target in this Chiefs Draft Board.
As I mentioned above, cornerback is one of the most needed positions for the Chiefs in the draft and if cornerback isn’t the top need than safety probably is. There are other great options at safety later in the draft, but Adderley is looking like the best overall, so if the Chiefs see this as their biggest need it could be smart to go ahead and take Adderley at pick 29.
