CHIEFS AS AVENGERS – TYRANN MATHIEU AS ROCKET

Tyrann Mathieu has yet to play a game for the Chiefs, but he absolutely deserves to be matched up with a member of the Avengers. Ultimately, I went with Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy.

My logic for this was simple.

Rocket is a raccoon (even though Thor constantly calls him “sweet rabbit”) and Mathieu’s nickname is Honey Badger. Rocket is an animal and Mathieu’s nickname is an animal, so it was only fitting that the two be matched up on that basis alone.

I also like this pairing because both guys are badasses. Rocket is very much a guy who couldn’t care less what other people think of him and he’s very confident in himself, as showcased in both Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Mathieu is the same way. Even after a tough go of it near the end of his college career and two ACL tears as a professional football player, he’s made the best of things and has become of the best safeties in the entire league.

Mathieu is a cool and confident guy and that’s why he would definitely be Rocket.
