The 2019 NFL Draft is very deep at tight end this year and could provide great value for the Chiefs.

The projected top tight end in the draft, T.J. Hockenson of Iowa, is not likely going to be available for the Chiefs when their spot comes up on the board. There is a possibility Iowa teammate Noah Fant could be off the board as well. Names that could make sense, likely in round two, are names the Chiefs have looked into during the pre draft process.

Originally a signee out of high school with Kansas, Jace Sternberger is a tight end that has shot up boards and could be in play for the Chiefs with either of their second round selections. With good size, speed and hands, Sternbeger has talent and ability to be that second tight end this season while the Chiefs evaluate whether to keep Kelce.

Other names to watch include Dawson Knox of Ole Miss and Josh Oliver of San Jose State, a player I believe the Chiefs are fans of. Dax Raymond of Utah State is another name to keep an eye on during the draft process. So, there are plenty of names available.
