The Kansas City Chiefs came into the offseason with an elite offense and a defense that needed to be overhauled. The defense has been overhauled and they now have an entirely new look heading into the 2019 NFL Draft.

Version one of the Kansas City Chiefs Draft Board was a pretty defensive heavy draft. Nothing has changed in this one. The defense has been reset, and is now pretty much a blank canvas.

The Chiefs could use a player or two at pretty much every position on the defensive side of the ball. Before looking at the Chiefs’ draft options, below is an updated look my predicted current depth chart.

As you can see there are plenty of holes that need to be filled including wide receiver, tight end, offensive line, running back, defensive line, linebacker, cornerback, and safety. Let’s start by looking at options for the Chiefs in the first round.

Targets for the Chiefs’ First Round Pick

Greedy Williams, Cornerback (LSU)

In the first version of the Chiefs draft board, I talked about how it would take a miracle for Greedy Williams to slide to the Chiefs at pick 29. That is becoming more and more realistic after his Combine performance.

Early in the offseason, Williams was pretty much a consensus first cornerback off of the board, now some analysts are starting to slide him out of that number one cornerback spot.Todd McShay even had Williams completely out of his first round projections in his most recent mock draft.

I will have to disagree with McShay slightly here, as Williams could slide a little bit after his combine performance, but he will still go in the first round. As you can see in the video below he performed great in the 40-yard dash, but in the second drill he showed some less than desirable traits.

If Williams does slide to pick 29, the Chiefs better snatch him because bunch of good game film and elite speed is more important than one bad drill at the combine.
