The first week of NFL free agency is in the books, and the Kansas City Chiefs wasted little time in re-shaping the roster.

The Kansas City Chiefs front office let go, in one way or another, several pieces of last year’s 12-4 team while also making numerous additions. Looking back on those moves, who had the better week?

One thing seems certain: it’s hard to find a loser in crowd. Even guys who don’t make this list, like current free agents Eric Berry and Justin Houston, will land solidly on their feet. Another, head coach Andy Reid, is watching men he’s hired (or at least strongly endorsed to be hired), perform their jobs in an exemplary fashion.

Sure, the offseason isn’t even close to being finished, as free agency rages on and with the NFL Draft just over one month away. But the Chiefs have added pieces to both sides of the ball while giving the team’s new defensive coordinator access to the types of players he needs to create a successful, more complete unit.

It’s never too early to check in on winners of free agency, whether that be a coach, front office personnel, a newly arrived player, a returning player, or a departed player. And so here’s a look at five people connected to the Chiefs who have come out ahead since the start of the league’s free agency.
