Every year, fans and media pundits are obsessed with who wins the offseason. This term is usually reserved for the team that makes the most signings at free agency, or wheels and deals the most in the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs need to win the 2019 offseason.

The Minnesota Vikings “won” the offseason last year with the signing of veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins. Obviously, results on the field will always mean more than the results on paper. The Vikings took a step back, missing the playoffs entirely in 2018, which is a far cry from their NFC Championship Game appearance the year before.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs don’t need to win the offseason. They do, however, need to make smart moves that improves their roster, because falling short in the playoffs is no longer acceptable when you have an MVP quarterback.

If the Chiefs make a few simple moves, they could see themselves hoisting the Lombardy trophy for the first time in decades. Here is a five-step plan when it comes to the offseason and how the Chiefs can win this spring.
