Bobby Evans, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma

Maybe I view the position more of a long-term need than others, but as I said earlier, I expect the Chiefs to draft an offensive tackle in the middle rounds of the draft, potentially as early the second round. In the third is Bobby Evans, who played left tackle this season for a high flying Oklahoma offense that produced their second consecutive Heisman winner.

While he will need to add some more pounds to to anchor at the pro level and refine technique adapting to the pro style game, his athleticism, experience along the line, and ability to move in space is attractive for the Chiefs open style offense.

Connor McGovern, Guard/Center, Penn State

Connor McGovern has experience playing all three of the interior offensive line spots and can play either guard or center. The Chiefs would probably slot him in at center. Strong, athletic and powerful, McGovern plays usually with good pad level and leverage.

McGovern is not a true ‘road grader’, but is fairly nimble and can move around, important in the Chiefs offense. The Chiefs took Mitch Morse, a tackle at Missouri, and has an ability to find athletic linemen and find ways to help them succeed. McGovern could be the next story.
