The Chiefs must find contributing depth and a future starter with this pick to contend long-term.

Isaac Nauta, Tight End, Georgia

Isaac Nauta is a player that will, in my opinion, do more as professional than a pro. A big tight end that was used primarily as a blocker for the run first Georgia offense, Nauta has the ability to get up the field as well as in the slot.

A strong blocker and strong hands in the passing game, Nauta may not be overly explosive as a player, but is big and physical, can block and runs hard and is versatile. Much as the Chiefs did with Patrick Mahomes in 2017, Nauta would spend his rookie season learning and developing behind current starter Kelce and then take over for the veteran in 2020.

Dawson Knox, Tight End, Ole Miss

Extremely raw, but extremely athletic tight end prospect will need a year of teaching and development coming off a career at a program that saw a head coach fired, NCAA sanctions and surrounded by wide receivers that garnered greater headlines. A willing, but not great blocker and in need of refinement in many of the finer points of the position, a year of learning would a great asset.

As a pass catching tight end capable of getting upfield, Knox would be an intriguing option to develop if he’s on the board.
