Kansas City Chiefs: Wish list for 2019 NFL Draft
By John McCarty
Byron Cowart, Defensive Line, Maryland
A former top national recruit, Byron Cowart struggled to produce at Auburn before transferring to Maryland. He has size to either play pass rushing defensive tackle or strong side defensive end. Cowart lacks the explosiveness to be a pass rusher, but is strong and a decent athlete that offers depth and versatility along the defensive line.
Jazz Ferguson, Wide Receiver, Northwestern State
A large wide receiver in the mold of Hakeem Butler, Jazz Ferguson is a former top receiver prospect before transferring to the lower level school. A decent athlete with the size, Ferguson, at a minimum, could be a red zone threat and ‘flex tight end’ type player in the right scheme. He has limited ceiling due to issues changing direction, but between his size, speed and general athleticism, there is potential for Ferguson to find a role in the NFL.
Keelan Doss, Wide Receiver , UC-Davis
Keelan Doss provides good size from a lower level prospect, who did well during the Senior Bowl week of practice and then in the game itself. He’s not overly fast, but has strong hands and runs good routes. Doss has limited potential and may need a year to adapt to the pro level before he can see the field. He’s the type of prospect that could make the team during preseason or disappear completely.
