ROUND 7: PICK 2 (216TH OVERALL)

With their final pick of the 2019 NFL Draft, the KC Chiefs shore up their offensive line by adding Marcus Norman to their ranks. It’s never exciting to add an offensive lineman in the draft, but it’s one of those positions that needs a never-ending amount of depth due to how often injuries pile up.

The Chiefs experienced that firsthand last year when both Mitch Morse and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif went down with injuries. Of course, Norman isn’t a guard or a center, but the Chiefs wouldn’t use him as a starter anyway (unless they were forced to).

Norman played most of his college career at right tackle, which has been solidified by Mitchell Schwartz for the last three seasons. The Chiefs could easily move Norman to another spot along the line, but if Schwartz (who has started every single game while in KC) somehow sustained an injury, at least there’s a guy who can man the right side of the line.

This is purely a depth pick, but offensive line always needs depth, so nobody would be too upset about using the final draft selection on a tackle.
