ROUND 6: PICK 28 (201ST OVERALL)

Remember how I said adding help in the secondary was crucial in this draft? Well, that’s still the case even after KC added two defensive backs with their first two picks. They go with another in round six, however, a safety out of Notre Dame named Devin Studstill.

What immediately stands out when looking at Studstill’s stats is that he wasn’t on the field much last year. The Fighting Irish safety appeared in just three games and notched four tackles during his short time on the gridiron as a junior.

The season prior, Studstill played in nine games and had 18 total tackles. In 2016, he appeared in 11 games and that was obviously where all of his career highs came from. He had 38 tackles, one forced fumble, and one interception.

Studstill hasn’t been able to stay healthy, but he’s worth taking a late flier on in the draft. At this point of the draft, teams are mostly looking for depth anyway, so if there’s a chance Devin Studstill could stay healthy, he could be a nice backup or special teams piece for the Chiefs.
