ROUND 2: PICK 31 (63RD OVERALL)

The Chiefs very well might be moving on from Justin Houston and there’s been talk that they could trade Dee Ford after franchise tagging him as well. That means the Chiefs need a linebacker, even if the team is moving to a different defensive scheme.

Mack Wilson is KC’s pick in round two (well, their second round two selection) and the 6’2″ Crimson Tide linebacker had a decent year in 2018. He totaled 65 tackles, seven defended passes, two interceptions, and one sack.

While Wilson could turn into a good player, he might be more of an experimental guy in his first year or so and the Chiefs have drafted enough of those already. That being said, Wilson is talented and can make tackles when called upon.

The Chiefs need a linebacker who can step in and contribute from day one and Wilson might not be that guy. Regardless, the Chiefs draft him and hope they can find a role for him as a rookie.
