MINOR LEAGUERS WHO COULD MAKE IMPACT – KYLE ZIMMER

This is the likeliest to happen, especially when it comes to guys who could make the Opening Day roster. Kyle Zimmer, former first round pick in 2012, has battled like crazy to get to this position and it appears that day of him pitching in the big leagues could finally come.

A week into Spring Training, Zimmer has thrown in 2.2 innings and only allowed one hit. The question has never been about Zimmer’s ability to throw clean innings, but rather his injury history. Injuries have sidelined him for just about every season of his career.

We still have three and a half weeks remaining of Spring Training, so a lot can change, but right now, Kyle Zimmer looks electric. He looks like the guy the Royals spent their first round pick on in 2012.

If Zimmer can give the Royals anything this year, fans will be relieved. It’s been a long time coming for both sides, so hopefully he continues to look good and finally gets to throw a pitch at the K.
