Kansas City Chiefs: Potential tight end prospects in 2019 NFL Draft
By John McCarty
TIGHT END DRAFT PROSPECTS – ISAAC NAUTA (GEORGIA)
A rare top shelf, five-star recruit at the tight end position, Isaac Nuata was a top target of then recently hired Georgia head man Kirby Smart, eventually stealing him away from Florida State. Despite his obvious athleticism and ability, Nauata was primarily a run blocking tight end for Georgia.
As a receiver, Nuata displays strong hands and explosiveness off the line and uses his body well to wall off defenders in the middle of the field.
An old school type tight end, Nuata is a tough, physical blocker both in the running and passing game. He has played during his three year career in Athens, playing in two conference championship games, a national championship game amongst the weekly contest faced in the SEC.
Nuata is a player that would make sense for the Chiefs in the middle rounds of the draft. A deep draft pushes the Georgia product down a bit, and though he’s limited due to his lack of ‘big play’ explosiveness, he certainly has plenty to like as a prospect and could certainly contribute right away in Kansas City.
