The Kansas City Royals had their first Spring Training game on Saturday, winning 9-1 over the Rangers. Which Royals need to have good Spring Trainings in 2019?

When it comes to Spring Training, a lot of fans will react whether a player is performing really well or poorly. It’s a time for the players to get warmed up, but with that said, there are a few members of the Kansas City Royals who need to show something over the next month.

Which Royals need to prove themselves in Spring Training? Let’s take a look.

JORGE SOLER

Jorge Soler was on his way to having a nice 2018 with the Royals. A foot injury in late June, however, derailed his season and he wouldn’t appear in another game for the duration of 2018.

While Soler is undoubtedly going to be in the Opening Day lineup (unless an injury occurs), seeing him get through Spring Training without sustaining any injuries would be ideal. It’d also be nice to see him hit well and improve his defending skills.

Soler is going to play right field and be a designated hitter this season for the Royals and now that he’s halfway through his initial deal, he needs to prove he can stay healthy and get to work every day for his team. Staying healthy and being productive in Spring Training would go a long way for the organization and the fans.
