Kansas City Chiefs: Six potential tight ends to target in free agency
TIGHT END OPTIONS IN FREE AGENCY
NUMBER 1 – JESSE JAMES
This one is probably unlikely due to him being one of the bigger names at tight ends on the market this spring, but Jesse James in a Chiefs uniform taking snaps at tight end with Travis Kelce would be great.
James was drafted in the fifth round by the Steelers in 2015 and never was a game changing tight end for them. This past year he split time with Vance McDonald and as the season progressed, it looked more and more like the Steelers preferred McDonald over James.
Now James will hit free agency and he’s someone the Chiefs should absolutely consider signing.
James had 30 receptions last season for 423 yards and two touchdowns. Chiefs fans saw his best game of the season, as it came against Kansas City in week two. James racked up five receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown in that game.
Pairing Jesse James behind Travis Kelce would give the Kansas City Chiefs one of the deadliest tight end duos in the league. That’s why the Chiefs have to at least consider inking Jesse James to a contract in free agency.
