Denver Broncos

Pick: 10

Current Quarterback: Joe Flacco

Despite the Broncos having recently traded for Joe Flacco, don’t rule them out of drafting a quarterback in the first round. Flacco, the long-time starting quarterback for a Ravens who lost his job last year, appears to be nothing more than a stop-gap.

Most general managers would probably be sweating bullets about job security at this juncture in their tenure, but not Elway. He seems to have all the time in the world in Denver. He can afford to use his first round pick on a quarterback even after trading a pick for Flacco.

And the Lock-to-Denver connection is strong. Elway even went to Columbia to personally scout Lock when the Tigers hosted the Arkansas Razorbacks the day after Thanksgiving.

Depending, of course, on how Flacco fares in 2019, this scenario would be win-win for the Broncos: acquire a quarterback for the present as well as one for the future with the latter learning under the former.
