ROUND 3 – PICK 28 (92ND OVERALL)

The Chiefs need help in their secondary and that’s why they add help at safety in the third round. They go with Jaquon Johnson out of Miami with their fourth pick in the draft.

Johnson, a four-year contributor at Miami, notched 92 tackles and two interceptions last year for the Hurricanes. He’s someone who might not be an every down type of player, but he could definitely see work right from the start and be someone the Chiefs rely on heavily.

The Draft Network writes,

"Johnson’s best projection is likely as a nickel and dime defender, where his tackling can supplement and aid vs. the run and his speed can allow him to constantly work in space as a zone pass defender. Niche player but definitely an NFL contributor on defense."

The Chiefs need help at safety and Jaquon Johnson is someone who can come in and make that happen.
