2019 NFL Mock Draft: KC Chiefs shake it up with first two picks

In our first two 2019 NFL Mock Drafts, the KC Chiefs have made it a point to focus on defense. This time around, however, they didn’t necessarily go that route.

All offseason long, Kansas City Chiefs fans are going to be hopeful that the team lands some defensive talent who can contribute right away. While my previous two mock drafts saw the Chiefs go heavy on defense, that wasn’t the case this time around.

As per usual, I used Fanspeak’s NFL Mock Draft Simulator and used NFL Mocks’ draft board. These mock simulators are fun, but they can vary depending on whose big board you use. Some might have a prospect as a third round pick and others might have that same guy as a seventh round option. It really does just depend.

With this mock draft, the first two picks are a bit surprising, but had the Chiefs gone with a preferred position, they’d be reaching on whatever player they went after.
