Spring Training officially begins on February 23rd for the Kansas City Royals, though pitchers and catchers have already reported to Surprise, Arizona. What questions do the Royals need to answer over the next month?

Well, baseball fans, it’s almost time for the season to begin! Spring Training marks the approaching 2019 season and for Kansas City Royals fans, there are some questions needing to be answered before the season begins in late March.

What are the biggest questions that the Royals need to have answered over the next month? Let’s take a look.

FIVE QUESTIONS TO ANSWER IN SPRING TRAINING

NUMBER 5 – IS JORGE SOLER GOOD TO GO?

Jorge Soler‘s 2016 campaign left something to be desired, but the Royals outfielder was having himself a nice 2017 season. That is, until he injured his foot in late June and missed the rest of the year as a result.

The Royals traded for Soler in hopes that he could be a competent right fielder and take some hacks as the designated hitter from time to time. While his .265 batting average and nine home runs in 257 plate appearances last year showed he could rake, now the soon-to-be 27 year old needs to prove he can stay healthy.

If Soler can’t overcome his injury proneness, this trade will go down as a bust. Hopefully he looks good and healthy through spring training and can be utilized all season long in Kansas City.
