FIRST ROUND DRAFT OPTIONS – OFFENSIVE LINE

The playoff game against the Patriots and constant onslaught by the defensive front perhaps shows just what Bill Belichick and the defensive staff thought of the Chiefs offensive line.

With current starter Mitch Morse a free agent and unlikely to return and both starting tackles on big contracts and not getting any younger, the Chiefs may be interested in solidifying the line to protect the franchise quarterback. While likely not a major need, it could be something the Chiefs look into.

Dalton Risner, Kansas State

An All-American tackle for the Kansas State team in 2018, Risner has experience playing both right tackle and center. The Chiefs, if they went this direction, likely view Risner as a center and someone that could step in and start immediately. Risner did well at the Senior Bowl and with good size, he could go a long way to solidifying the line up the middle.

Greg Little, Ole Miss

Perhaps the top tackle prospect in the draft, Little would be a developmental, swing tackle that could, potentially after the 2019 season, could replace either Fischer or Schwartz next season. A top prospect coming out of high school, Little has been a starter for Ole Miss since his freshman season, so a year as a backup swing tackle could serve as a apprentice season at the NFL level.

Garrett Bradbury, North Carolina State

Arguably the top true center in the draft, Bradberry did well at the Senior Bowl and extensive experience playing in the ACC for the Wolfpack program. With good size to go with the experience, he would provide an option to be an immediate starter for the Chiefs. At worse, he’d provide depth as a rookie along the interior of the offensive line.
