ROUND 7 – PICK 2 (218TH OVERALL)

With their final pick in this mock draft, Kansas City adds another player on offense, this time along the offensive line. The pick is Dennis Daley, an offensive tackle out of South Carolina.

Truthfully – The Chiefs don’t NEED an offensive lineman, but with how often injuries occur to o-linemen, adding depth is a wise move. Just last year alone, the Chiefs saw Laurent Duvernay-Tardif miss most of the season, Andrew Wylie miss time, and Mitch Morse get banged up.

Morse might be someone the Chiefs don’t bring back, but Austin Reiter played well in that starting center role. Other than that, the Chiefs will likely have the same starters in the trenches.

As for Daley, he was a JUCO player before finding his way to South Carolina. He played tackle, but perhaps he’d be moved to a guard position should the Chiefs need him to sub in at either left guard or right guard.

In the seventh round, teams are looking for depth and that’s what this pick would be. Dennis Daley would provide another offensive lineman should a starter get injured.
