CHIEFS WHO SHOULD BE CUT – XAVIER WILLIAMS

Xavier Williams was a player brought in to help stop the run in the 2018 season and he disappointed in his first season as a Chief. The Grandview native had just 47 tackles, two and a half sacks, and forced a fumble in his four starts.

The Chiefs also brought in Anthony Hitchens to help stop the run, but with Hitchens being a much more expensive signing, parting ways with him isn’t likely. Williams, however, will be a free agent after the 2019 season, and cutting him would be a cap hit of $3 million per Spotrac.

This is a move that doesn’t HAVE to be made, but the Chiefs should consider parting ways with Williams over the offseason and starting somewhat anew at run defense this offseason. They can’t get rid of Hitchens, but something has to change when it comes to stopping the run.
