CHIEFS WHO SHOULD BE CUT – REGGIE RAGLAND

When the Chiefs traded for Reggie Ragland during the 2017 season, I was all for the move. Ragland came in that season and made a difference from the get-go, but now, a little over a year later, and Ragland is someone the Chiefs should consider cutting this offseason.

With Bob Sutton out and Steve Spagnuolo in as defensive coordinator, the Chiefs are likely going to switch from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defense. Ragland was traded by the Bills in 2017 because Buffalo was making that switch and this could become a pattern in the former Alabama standout’s career.

Prior to the postseason, Bleacher Report released their choice for every team’s worst player in 2018. They had Ragland as the Chiefs’ worst player, stating,

"The former Alabama standout misses far too many open-field tackles, and he’s a liability in pass coverage as well. He’s a big reason why Kansas City’s defense could cost the team in the postseason."

While it’s tough to blame all of the defensive woes on Ragland, he was brought in to help stop the run and he didn’t do that. He should be a prime candidate to cut this offseason.
