As each round passes, what cornerback should interest the Kansas City Chiefs as they are on the clock? Here are some players fans should get to know and why.

The Kansas City Chiefs are assuredly going to address the corner position this offseason and the draft, and may address the spot multiple times. As the draft progresses and players come off the board, what names should Chiefs fans get to know and learn. This wish list is perhaps the  ideal player at each round.

CORNERBACK WISH LIST – FIRST ROUND

BYRON MURPHY – WASHINGTON

Byron Murphy is perhaps the top cornerback on the board and could very possibly be long off the board by the time the Chief pick in round one. There appears to be a void of cornerbacks that are both likely available at the end of round one and make sense for what the Chiefs are looking for.

In terms of a corner to draft and can start immediately for a contending football team, Murphy certainly appears to fit that bill.

With Steven Nelson potentially leaving in free agency, Orlando Scandrick likely gone, and Tremon Smith contributing more on special teams and losing his ‘spot’ to Charvarius Ward, there certainly is a need for a player that can, at a minimum, contribute immediately.

Murphy, if available, would be an easy selection and one that likely doesn’t take long to make. If available.
