Charles Omenihu, Defensive End (Texas)

Perhaps no player solidified and bolstered their stock during Senior Bowl week more than the big Texas defensive end Charles Omenihu. A quick, powerful defensive end, Omenihu followed up an impressive week in drills with a solid game.

At 6’6″ and 275 pounds, Omenihu is the giant, physical end the organization appears to value after the selections of Breeland Speaks and Tanoh Kpassagnon the past two years. Omenihu is a true strong defensive end capable of playing outside, displaying traits that indicate he can play both against the run and the pass.

He has a good burst and ‘get off’ at the snap with good, strong hands and relentless effort, which makes Omenihu a prospect Chiefs fans should keep their eyes on. If the Chiefs can work on his pad level and leverage, which can at times be an issue with taller defensive linemen, the defensive prospect has the opportunity to have a nice future in the league.

With the Chiefs likely moving to a 4-3 schemed defense, Omenihu certainly is a name to keep an eye on for the Chiefs to play that end spot.
