Amani Oruwariye, Cornerback (Penn State)

Quiet coming into the Senior Bowl, Amani Oruwariye‘s value and draft stock likely varies from team to team. At times he appears to be a quality man corner and other times appears destined to be a zone corner. Experienced and intelligent, he certainly could contribute early.

Oruwariye is rarely caught out of position, as his understanding of assignments and responsibilities seem to be very good. Perhaps the definition of the phrase ‘Whole greater than sum of the parts,’ the Penn State corner can do a little bit of everything. He displays the ability to cover both in zone and in press coverage and has good size and an ability jam receivers.

A question is why it took four years to become a starter, named a starter only his senior season despite playing in a bunch of games as an underclassman. Oruwariye looks like a player with a low floor, but perhaps a low ceiling as well, perhaps a quick contributing outside second cornerback.

With Steven Nelson a possibility to leave in free agency and Kendall Fuller a free agent after the 2019 season, depth is important.
