MOST SURPRISING CHIEFS  IN 2018 – NUMBER 1: PATRICK MAHOMES

Patrick Mahomes is the obvious choice for the most surprising Chief this season and there isn’t much else that this article can add to convince anyone of how remarkable his level of play was in 2018.

Even the most optimistic Chiefs fan wouldn’t have predicted the first-year starter to record an MVP-caliber season like this. His stats were truly remarkable for a player his age, racking up 50 touchdowns, passing over 5,000 yards, and averaging 318.6 yards per game.

It was a big move to trade Alex Smith when he had led the Chiefs to winning seasons every year, but the Chiefs did it because they knew they had something special with Mahomes. The Texas Tech product proved he is the franchise quarterback after taking the league by storm and being a near lock to win MVP.

This is only the beginning of Mahomes Mania and Chiefs Kingdom is loving that!
