CHIEFS TO EXTEND – Kendall Fuller, Cornerback

Kendall Fuller found his way onto the Chiefs roster via the Alex Smith trade and he’s turned out to be a pretty solid player. While he has had moments where he’s got beat or lost in coverage, there’s no denying he’s the most talented corner the Chiefs have and they should make sure he stay’s on the roster for a reasonable deal.

Steve Spagnuolo shouldn’t ask Fuller to be a shutdown guy, it’s just not who he is. If the Chiefs can utilize him in the slot, he could get back to being one of the best in the league at that spot. In 2017, Pro Football Focus had Fuller graded as THE best slot corner in all of the NFL.

The Chiefs need to address the position this draft and free agency, but I believe it all starts with getting Fuller a solid extension.

The Chiefs shouldn’t overspend on Fuller and I don’t think they’ll have to. Even just a two or three-year deal would suffice and he and Charvarius Ward would be the two center pieces to re-tool this secondary around.

Get. This. Done.
