Mizzou football all-time passing yards ranking: 4. James Franklin (6,962)

These last four spots all belong to fairly recent quarterbacks to take snaps for Mizzou football and the first we’ll cover is James Franklin. Franklin spent 2010-2013 in Columbia and took over the starting duties in 2011.

During Franklin’s four seasons with MU, he threw for 6,962 yards, edging out Jeff Handy by just three yards all-time. Franklin threw for 51 touchdowns and 25 picks over the span of four years.

While Franklin sits fourth all-time in passing yards, most Missouri fans remember him for his ability to make plays with his legs. He totaled 1,729 rushing yards to go along with 21 scores on the ground.

Franklin’s best year was easily in 2011 when he was a sophomore. That year saw him pass for 2,865 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while rushing for 981 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The best year for Missouri under Franklin, however, was his senior year in 2013. The Tigers went 12-2 overall and 7-1 in the SEC and were victorious in the Cotton Bowl that year.

James Franklin is fourth all-time in passing yards for the University of Missouri.
