Mizzou football all-time passing yards ranking: 9. Kent Kiefer (4,497)

When Kent Kiefer was the quarterback for Missouri in 1989 and 1990, the university was a member of the Big 8. Kiefer only spent two years in Columbia, but is still in the top ten all-time in passing yards.

His first year with MU resulted in him throwing for 2,314 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. In year two, he had 2,183 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and 15 picks. That gave him 23 touchdowns and 30 interceptions throughout two seasons.

While his stats weren’t mind blowing, Kiefer is still considered as one of the more efficient quarterbacks to roll through Columbia. He was three yards shy of throwing for 4,500 passing yards as a Missouri quarterback.

The Tigers weren’t great during Kiefer’s time at the helm, but not all of that can be placed on his shoulders. His 4,497 passing yards still sits ninth all-time in Mizzou football history.
