SIGN LANDON COLLINS

Landon Collins is perhaps the top free agent that fits what the Chiefs need to be looking for and where they are headed. Having played for new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo with the Giants before, Collins is perhaps the top safety on the market and is a young, emerging player.

Must Read. Chiefs should target Landon Collins free agency. light

Spotrac calculates the young emerging safety to carry a similar market value to that of Steven Nelson. You simply don’t pay an underwhelming corner that much money. Collins has been a play making safety, a position group that really was a catalyst for the defense’s issues the past two seasons.

Collins just recently turned 25 and is the type of player the Chiefs need to be targeting in free agency.

Find a leader and someone on the back end of the defense that isn’t afraid of tackling ball carriers. In four seasons, Collins has eight interceptions, so he’s a quality defender both in coverage and helping with the run.
