ROUND 6 – PICK 40 (215TH OVERALL)

At long last, the Chiefs add an offensive player! They opt to address the tight end position and do so in the form of Dawson Knox out of Ole Miss.

When it comes to the tight end position, the Chiefs have arguably the best at the position in the entire league in Travis Kelce. The problem is that Kelce is the only worthy tight end in Kansas City.

Demetrius Harris is somehow still on the roster despite never making much of a splash. The only other tight end on the roster is Deon Yelder, who was a rookie out of Western Kentucky this past season.

The point being… Kansas City needs to add depth at tight end and Knox could be that for the Chiefs. The Ole Miss product didn’t put up mind-blowing stats, posting 605 yards in two seasons with no touchdowns.

Ole Miss, however, has a lot of talent on their offense and it’s possible that three of their position players could be early round picks this year. Knox is only a junior, but with his quarterback being a senior, it makes perfect sense that he’d opt to enter the draft rather than return to school.

The Chiefs need depth at tight end and Dawson Knox fits the mold there.
