ROUND 2 – PICK 32 (64TH OVERALL)

With their second pick in round two, the Chiefs add yet another defensive player. This time, it’s D’Andre Walker out of Georgia.

Walker had some unfortunate news surface earlier this week when it was announced that he’d have to miss the Senior Bowl due to what’s been a nagging injury. Walker sustained that injury in the SEC Championship Game against Alabama.

Prior to getting hurt in that game, Walker was looking like he was in for quite a night. Per Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation,

"Walker had five tackles, two TFLs, two QB hurries a forced fumble and a deflected pass in three quarters, wreaking havoc in the Alabama backfield."

The Georgia edge rusher had a nice senior season in Athens, totaling 45 tackles (11 for loss), seven and a half sacks, four forced fumbles, and three defended passes. With the Chiefs’ pass rushing situation up in the air moving forward, D’Andre Walker could be someone who steps in and contributes right away.

Obviously the injury is something to keep an eye on, but even if he’s not healthy right at the beginning of the year, the pick would still be worth it. This kid has tremendous upside for sure.
